My Non-Negotiable Morning Glow Routine (Under 10 Minutes)
Share
My morning routine used to be chaotic. Alarm goes off, phone goes up, 20 minutes disappear into nothing, then I'm rushing to get ready and skipping steps because I ran out of time. My skin paid for it. My energy paid for it.
Now I protect my morning like it matters, because it does. And I've gotten my glow routine down to under 10 minutes without cutting anything that actually works. Here it is.
Step 1: Water First (30 seconds)
Before anything touches my face or my phone, I drink a full glass of water. Your body is dehydrated after 7-8 hours of sleep and your skin shows it immediately. Puffiness, dullness, and that flat morning look are partly just dehydration. This one habit makes a visible difference.
Step 2: Gentle Cleanse (1 minute)
I use a gentle, non-stripping cleanser in the morning. Nothing harsh. Your skin isn't dirty when you wake up and your overnight skincare is still partially working. A light cleanse removes any residue without stripping the moisture you built overnight.
Step 3: Vitamin C Serum (30 seconds)
This is my non-negotiable. Vitamin C in the morning serves two purposes: it brightens skin and it supercharges your SPF by neutralizing free radicals that UV rays generate. Three drops, press into skin, let it absorb while I brush my teeth.
Step 4: Moisturizer (30 seconds)
A lightweight moisturizer with good humectants while my skin is still slightly damp from the serum. It seals everything in and gives my SPF a smooth surface to apply over.
Step 5: SPF (1 minute)
Last step of skincare, always. I use a tinted mineral SPF on most days which gives me light coverage at the same time. It evens my skin tone enough that I can skip foundation entirely on a good skin day. SPF is the step that protects every other step you just did.
Step 6: Brows and Lip Color (2 minutes)
A filled brow and a good lip color are the two things that make me look most put together with the least effort. Brow pencil in light feathery strokes, a clean lip color with SPF, and I'm done.
The Thing That Actually Makes It Work
Everything is within arm's reach of where I do my routine. No hunting for products. No decisions to make in the morning. Layout is set the night before. When the routine requires zero friction, you actually do it.
Ten minutes. Every morning. Your skin will thank you within two weeks.
